Make a Difference, One Mom at a Time

At Ohana Beginnings, our mentors are the heartbeat of our program. Every mom who joins our program is paired with a mentor, someone who encourages her, works with her one-on-one, and helps her access the resources she needs.

If you’re an experienced mother who wants to share your wisdom, compassion, and support, mentoring is one of the most impactful ways you can change lives.

Volunteer Opportunities

While mentoring is our greatest need, there are many ways to get involved:

• Mentoring: Work one-on-one with a mom, offering encouragement, guidance, and support
• Making Quilts: Create comforting gifts for moms and babies
• Organizing Drives: Collect clothes, books, toys, or baby items for families in need
• Helping with Fundraising: Support events that keep our mission strong
• Other Opportunities: From office help to special projects, there’s always a way to serve

Requirements

Because of the vulnerable populations we serve, all mentors and volunteers must:

• Complete a background check
• Be willing to work with women ages 13–36 facing unplanned pregnancies
• Commit to serving with compassion, respect, and confidentiality

Time Commitment

Mentors typically spend 1-2 hours per week supporting a mom, depending on her needs.

Other volunteer opportunities (such as drives or quilting) are flexible and based on your availability.

As a volunteer, you are a representative of Ohana Beginnings. We ask that you:

• Show up consistently and reliably
• Offer encouragement, not judgment
• Respect the privacy and dignity of every woman you serve
• Be willing to listen, learn, and grow in your role

All Training Provided

You don’t have to have all of the answers or prior experience, we’ll equip you with everything you need. Every volunteer receives training, ongoing support, and resources so you can serve confidently.

Your time, skills, and compassion can be the reason a mom feels supported and a baby is welcomed into the world with love.
